About ten years ago Paul began to combine his regular appearances in hotels in the best known European hotspots with cruising gigs around the Med. He soon came to the attention of the bookers for the major cruise lines and in the last five years his popularity has soared. So much so that for 35 weeks of the year he is on a cruise ship somewhere in the world.

Most pleasing for Paul is his success in front of North American audiences on board NCL, Orient Lines and Royal Caribbean ships. He has been performing regularly in front of crowds predominantly made up of international tourists Audiences enjoy his enthusiasm, freshness and crowd pleasing material. Officers, staff and crew appreciate his willing and helpful personality.
Currently, when not cruising, Paul heads for North America regularly visiting the top comedy venues at such places as New York City, Toronto, Atlantic City, and Montreal readily accepting invitations to perform a guest spot.
Paul writes new material every day and is developing several ideas for TV and Radio shows. He created the stage show Make ‘Em Laugh – which was toured for 40 dates by Flying Music. Paul will launch The Opening Act Productions as the conduit for all his ideas and will devote time to building that company.
His wide ranging experience includes stage shows, cabaret, pantomimes, studio warm-up and corporate entertaining where he displays his knack or tailoring material to suit any audience in any venue time and time again.
He is bright, original, fresh and funny. And clean; and despite being completely inoffensive, or maybe because of it, he still has audiences on their feet and laughing.

It all began for Paul Adams when he was found on a doorstep. He
was a baby just a few days old left in a basket with a note pinned
to his cardigan saying 'Please return the basket.'
At
school he was the class clown until his parents were able to afford
a proper uniform. He had an interest in drama and comedy and joined
the youngsters group at the Bob Hope Theatre in Eltham, London.
(A fellow student was Jude Law and Paul was in several productions
with him) Paul hosted a members' evening during which he did several
stand-up spots and decided then his future lay alone on the stage.
Not long after Paul started work on the entertainments team at Warners
Holiday Centre on Hayling Island. His job involved getting up at
6 am helping the guests make the most of their stay and generally
getting to bed around 2 the next morning after the last person had
left the disco. All of these duties happily undertaken so he could
do 8 minutes of stand-up on the Teamstars Show every Friday night.
Even then, at 18, Paul was forming the character and policy that
would sustain his position in show business. Be topical, involve
the audience, be clean.
After a season in Jersey Paul went out on his own.
He was drafted in to replace the opening act at a Joe Longthorne
one-nighter in Bristol and after his performance was added to Joe's
Summer Season line-up in Scarborough. The season was another success
and Paul was signed to open for the 60 date Autumn tour. That was
the start.
Someone described Paul as 'instantly likeable' on one of those early
gigs and that really is the reason he is asked to return. He's clean,
respectful, helpful and the crew take the mickey out of him all
tour long. There is no greater accolade.
Paul's heroes include Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman
two very funny US comedians who get laughs without being abusive
in language or deed.

Paul has made a home for himself at the Royal Albert Hall, the most
prestigious comedy gig in London where he has made 6 acclaimed appearances.
(Or 7 if you count his show with the Boys Brigade when he was 12).
The configuration of the auditorium at that venue means that not everyone
can work there
in fact, Paul was advised on his first appearance
there to 'forget trying to be funny, just talk to them.' Fortunately
he did not follow that advice but he prepared some special material
which brought the house down. And still does when he's there.
In 2002, inspired by a poster in a foyer, Paul came up with the idea for Make ‘Em Laugh – a show bringing together four legends of British comedy to give audiences a programme that TV has been starving them of. Paul linked the show with topical and up-to-date material and took part in sketches that he (and Charlie) wrote. The production was successfully toured by Flying Music.

Paul's assured presence in the studio comes in part from his teenage
years during which he often accompanied his Dad to recordings. Paul's
Dad, Charlie Adams, wrote material for just about all the big Saturday
night entertainment shows in the 80s and 90s. ('That's the 1980s and
1990s
in case you're wondering' CA)
Paul saw Brian Conley, Shane Richie, Joe Pasqualle, Bradley Walsh
and many others take their first telly steps and watched already big
stars record their classic shows.
He also saw the likes of Jeff Stevenson, Bobby Bragg and Felix Bowness
in action, greeting the audience and preparing them to laugh their
hearts out. So Paul knows exactly where the warm-up man comes in the
scheme of the studio date and his material is judged for that.
